STORMY KNIGHT

Ran a dirt trial 1200m on August 28th (7-8-6), ridden patiently in the straight. Coming out for the season, he performed reasonably well eight weeks ago. He was slow to break from the stalls, settled mid-pack and maintained a steady pace, gradually closing in in the final stages. A trial run showed he still needs more experience. Racing this time off work, he faces an uphill battle carrying 16 pounds extra, and the combination of jockey and trainer isn't ideal. However, he was competitive when tracking the pace from the rear, showing the most impressive finishing kick in his field and drawing a favourable draw, although there wasn't an opportunity for a win.
