HAPPY SUNDAY was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore). Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY SUNDAY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. VIENTO bounded in the air at the start and lost ground. DANZULU was slow into stride. After the 1000 Metres and again making the turn at the 800 Metres, WHAT A THRILL got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of LIFELINE PEGASUS. On straightening, KING CREOLE, which had been held up, shifted out to obtain clear running. At the 300 Metres, COSMO SUCCESSOR was struck over the nose by the whip of B Prebble (DANZULU). When questioned regarding the poor performance of LIFELINE PEGASUS, which was racing first up after an injury enforced spell, Apprentice K T Yeung explained his mount travelled comfortably behind the lead, however, in the Straight did not quicken. He said the manner in which LIFELINE PEGASUS raced indicated to him it would derive benefit from today’s race. LIFELINE PEGASUS and WHAT A THRILL were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of LIFELINE PEGASUS and WHAT A THRILL after the race did not show any significant findings. DANZULU and TYCOON TAYLOR were sent for sampling.
