Steward Report Predict Pace Map
After being boxed, PLASTIC POLYMER momentarily had its right hind leg caught over the platform inside the stall. PLASTIC POLYMER was removed from the stall and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. BROM BROM began awkwardly and lost ground. On jumping, when being taken back, CLEMENT ELITE got its head up and bumped with ABOVE ALL which had bumped with BEAUTY FOREVER which shifted in on jumping. PLASTIC POLYMER began awkwardly and then trailed the field throughout. PLASTIC POLYMER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of PLASTIC POLYMER after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of PLASTIC POLYMER was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, PLASTIC POLYMER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. In the early stages, BOSS got its head up when being steadied. After the 700 Metres, HURRICANE DASH was steadied when disappointed for running between ABOVE ALL and MONTE CRISTO which improved around the outside. On straightening, ABOVE ALL became unbalanced and lost ground when crowded for room between BROM BROM and MONTE CRISTO. After the 400 Metres, SPEEDY WARRIOR was steadied away from the heels of GALEN WIN. Near the 300 Metres, Apprentice K C Leung (STREET CAT) dropped his whip. Apprentice Leung was reminded that the Stewards had recently spoken with him regarding the frequency of him dropping his whip in races and he was told that he must take steps to endeavour to rectify it. After the 200 Metres, BEAUTY FOREVER, which was closing the race off strongly, experienced difficulty obtaining clear running and was steadied. After the 100 Metres, BEAUTY FOREVER improved into a narrow run between GALEN WIN and LU YUE. As a consequence, BEAUTY FOREVER was crowded for room and GALEN WIN and LU YUE became unbalanced when bumped by BEAUTY FOREVER. When questioned, Apprentice M Chadwick (BEAUTY FOREVER) said as the horse was racing first up from a spell today and dropping back in distance, he was instructed from a wide barrier to allow the horse to begin and take it to a position where it was able to travel comfortably. He said it was felt that too much use would be required to be made of BEAUTY FOREVER for it to travel in a forward position. He said after beginning fairly he took BEAUTY FOREVER back to a rearward position where it travelled comfortably. He said in the Straight BEAUTY FOREVER closed the race off strongly and had it been able to obtain clear running, it would have in his opinion figured prominently in the finish. BROM BROM, STREET CAT and HURRICANE DASH were sent for sampling. <2/7/2009 Additional Veterinary Report> PLASTIC POLYMER, which performed poorly, was examined by the Head of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison. He said at that time there were no significant findings. PLASTIC POLYMER was again examined by the Head of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison at the stables of Trainer D Cruz this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. As previously advised, PLASTIC POLYMER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
