MEGABUCKS and MORE THAN YOU WISH were slow to begin. As the start was effected, VINSANTO bounded in the air and consequently lost ground. After being ridden along shortly after the start, VINSANTO then got its head up on a number of occasions passing the 1100 Metres and proved difficult to settle when being steadied. Near the 1000 Metres, VINSANTO shifted in when continuing to prove difficult to settle and was checked away from the heels of COSMO SUCCESSOR. After the 700 Metres, GLOBAL WIN commenced to hang out and proved difficult to ride in the Straight. Throughout the race, both MEGABUCKS and SUGAR ON TOP travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding his riding out of the 4th placed, DARPANA, over the concluding stages, J Lloyd said that his mount, which was closing off the race strongly, shifted in and bumped GLOBAL WIN near the 50 Metres. He said for this reason he put the whip away on DARPANA which he had been using in the left hand. He said after rebalancing DARPANA, he continued to ride that horse out to the end of the race hands and heels. J Lloyd was advised that whilst the Stewards were satisfied that his riding out of the horse over the concluding stages had not had any effect on DARPANA`s final placing, he should wherever circumstances permit ride his mounts out right to the end of the race to the best of his ability. A veterinary inspection of MEGABUCKS and SUGAR ON TOP after the race did not show any significant findings. MISTER HORSE, COSMO SUCCESSOR and GLENEALY VIKING were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that KINGIFLY had bled from both nostrils. Also after the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on VINSANTO at the request of the trainer. The Veterinary Officer reported that this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, VINSANTO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
