BEAUTY FOREVER stood flat-footed at the start and lost a considerable amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTY FOREVER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. After racing tight between QUICK TOUCH and PRINCE KALAMOUN at the start, MING HOI TREASURE shifted in away from PRINCE KALAMOUN, struck the heels of QUICK TOUCH and nearly fell. Passing the 400 Metres, BUTTERFIELD was steadied away from the heels of BEAUTY FOREVER (B Prebble) which shifted out when not quite clear. B Prebble will be advised to ensure he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances. Passing the 300 Metres, IRON FIST got its head on the side and shifted out. Passing the 200 Metres, MIGHTY HIGH got its head on the side and shifted in under pressure. Throughout the race, BUTTERFIELD travelled wide and without cover. When questioned, Y T Cheng stated that near the 900 Metres he shifted QUICK TOUCH away from the fence from behind BERIO which he had been following up to that point. He said he did this as QUICK TOUCH had previously raced successfully when ridden near the lead. He said at this time it was his expectation that BERIO would continue to race on the fence behind IRON FIST. He said when improving to the outside of BERIO passing the 800 Metres, that horse was shifted out to a one-off position from behind IRON FIST which resulted in QUICK TOUCH being taken out to a three wide position without cover outside of the lead. A veterinary inspection of MING HOI TREASURE after the race revealed that the horse was lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, MING HOI TREASURE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of JOHNSON after the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being permitted to race again, JOHNSON will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. YUE LU TREASURE and MIGHTY HIGH were sent for sampling.
