FUN AND FAST was slow to begin and shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of GRACYTOM. BARCELONA TOO was slow to begin. MASTER RACER was crowded for room at the start between DASHING ACE and SEIZE THE DAY which shifted out after beginning awkwardly. HEY HA MASTER shifted in at the start, resulting in CREATIVE UNION being crowded for room outside MEGABUCKS. In this incident, MEGABUCKS became unbalanced after being bumped by CREATIVE UNION. From the outside barrier, BEAUTIFUL SCENERY was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Shortly after entering the Straight, FUN AND FAST was shifted in away from the heels of MEGABUCKS after being held up for clear running behind that horse. Near the 50 Metres, FUN AND FAST was accidentally struck over the head by the whip of C K Tong (DASHING ACE). Close to the finishing line, FUN AND FAST was momentarily steadied away from the heels of MEGABUCKS which shifted in. For the majority of the race, CREATIVE UNION travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. A veterinary inspection of FAIRY DRAGON after the race did not show any significant findings. FAIRY DRAGON, GRACYTOM and FASTALOT were sent for sampling.
