CITY POWER was withdrawn on 20.10.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore). Before being allowed to race again, CITY POWER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. EASY TO RICH was slow to begin. From outside barriers, NOBLE DELUXE and HO HO LIFE were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, LEGEND EXPRESS was momentarily crowded for room inside EASY TO RICH which, after being taken in slightly by ENTHUSING, got its head on the side and shifted in away from that horse. A short distance later, LEGEND EXPRESS was again crowded for room inside EASY TO RICH which was taken in by ENTHUSING (D Whyte). D Whyte was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in future. When attempting to be shifted in to a position with cover behind EASY TO RICH near the 1300 Metres, ENTHUSING became awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, LEGEND EXPRESS raced tight inside ENTHUSING which got its head on the side and shifted in slightly. Throughout the race, CHANCELLOR travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. After the race, D Whyte reported that ENTHUSING became very stirred up behind the barriers when the nose band applied to the horse required replacing. He said although ENTHUSING travelled three wide throughout the race, he was able to obtain cover behind CHANCELLOR, but when placed under pressure in the Straight the horse did not respond to his riding. He added although ENTHUSING travelled wide during the race, in his opinion, the horse’s performance today was solely attributable to the manner in which it became stirred up prior to the start. A veterinary inspection of ENTHUSING after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of EASY TO RICH after the race revealed the horse to be distressed. Before being allowed to race again, EASY TO RICH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of CHANCELLOR after the race did not show any significant findings. ALL ROUND, NOBLE DELUXE and MY GOAL were sent for sampling.
