On March 25th, the horse recorded consistent splits in a turf trial over 1000m (sections of 5-5-5) while maintaining an outside rail position with relaxed effort. Five weeks ago, over Sha Tin’s 1200m, it ran well despite a slow start and settling towards the rear, finishing with fast sections in the final two furlongs to be beaten three lengths into sixth place. A subsequent barrier trial showed limited improvement. Now stepping up to 1400m at Sha Tin with a two-pound weight reduction and an outside draw, a hold-up tactics is anticipated, but its finishing speed may not match rivals, presenting a challenging situation despite comparable sectionals within the group.
