Three weeks ago, this horse performed poorly in a straight-course race, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear with an even pace but lacking a finishing burst. He finished seventh, beaten three and a half lengths. Switching to Happy Valley over 1200m for his first attempt at this distance, he benefits from a four-pound weight reduction. The tactics will be to settle back in the field, however, his finishing kick wasn't strong enough against rivals. While the distance suits, drawing a good barrier provides some opportunity.
