ESCAPE ROUTE

Three weeks ago, this horse performed well in a Happy Valley 1800m race, despite a slow jump and settling at the rear. It showed a strong finishing move but was beaten three and a half lengths, demonstrating good ability. A subsequent trial over Sha Tin's 1800m distance is next, with a 3lb weight reduction this time. However, it has failed to perform in three previous attempts at this course and distance, and the opposition appears strong. Drawing an outside barrier suggests a hold-up tactic will be employed, but its finishing kick may not be sufficient to compete effectively, making it unlikely to feature prominently in this race.
