On May 8th, this horse recorded a second-place finish in a dirt trial over 1200m at Conghua, running smoothly while tracking the leaders. Four weeks ago, it ran poorly over a Sha Tin mile, with a slow start and settling towards the rear before making a mid-race move that faded, resulting in a disappointing performance. A recent barrier trial showed moderate form. Switching to a Sha Tin 1400m race now, it’s its first attempt at this distance. Benefitting from a four-pound weight reduction and drawing an inside barrier, a hold-up tactic is expected given its finishing kick, which is considered strong within the group. Matthew Poon takes the ride, potentially forming a good partnership with the horse. Despite not having the most favorable conditions or a strong trainer-jockey relationship, it should still be respected.
