On 2/5 (dirt trial 1200m: 1-1-1), the horse showed good acceleration, cutting across to gain a clear running path and finishing strongly. On 8/4 (turf trial 1000m: 9-6-2) he was slow to jump but made up ground along the outside rail with a late effort. On 25/3 (turf trial 1000m: 2-2-6), he tracked the pace in both sections, appearing average under pressure. On 14/3 (Happy Valley turf trial 1000m: 4-5-7) he moved off the rail at the 200m mark but was unremarkable. On 7/3 (Conghua turf trial 1000m: 2-2-8), he showed promise early on before fading towards the finish line. On 28/2 (Conghua turf trial 800m: 3-2-5) his momentum weakened in the final stages, lacking focus. After a long break, this will be his seasonal debut. Six barrier trials have been completed with signs of improvement. He is set to carry four pounds more this time, which isn’t ideal; despite a competitive time relative to the group and drawing a good barrier, he is not considered a strong contender in this race.
