On May 9th, the horse completed a 1000m turf trial at Happy Valley in running positions of 5-5-5, showing steady form compared to previous trials. Three weeks ago, over the same distance, performance was mediocre; a slow jump led to settling towards the rear, with a mid-race effort proving insufficient to close the gap. A subsequent barrier trial didn’t indicate improvement. This time benefiting from a three-pound weight reduction, but facing unfavorable section times within its group and a less harmonious trainer-jockey relationship. Despite drawing an inside barrier, a likely hold-up tactics is expected; however, finishing kick remains promising with Harry Bentley taking the reins, aware of the horse’s limitations, opportunities appear limited.
