Two weeks ago, over this same distance, the performance was poor; a slow start saw it settle towards the rear with an even pace but no finishing burst. It finished eighth, beaten three and a half lengths. This race sees no weight reduction, and the timing of the group is not significantly different. Drawing a good barrier allows for a potential forward run. Lyle Hewitson takes the ride, gaining some understanding of the horse's capabilities. Increased work has been undertaken, but despite a weak finishing kick, the situation isn’t ideal with limited trainer-jockey synergy. A clean break and an intent to track the pace are key to improvement.
