THE HEIR

On April 7th, recorded an impressive dirt trial over 1200m (sections: 8-7-4) with a strong surge. On June 23rd, during a turf trial at Conghua over 1000m, he relaxed and tracked the pace well (sections: 5-4-2). A further turf trial at Conghua on March 13th saw him run comfortably over 1000m (sections: 8-10-7) with a natural rhythm. Three months ago, his Happy Valley mile race was poor, tracking the leaders and maintaining a good pace through the first two sections but fading noticeably. Returning from a spell, he has completed three trials exhibiting moderate form. Another Sha Tin turf trial over 1400m is scheduled; this time with a one-pound weight reduction, drawing an outside barrier. The plan is to settle towards the rear, though finishing speed may be insufficient against rivals. Despite a relatively competitive group timing, his prospects are not ideal and challenging for first place will be difficult.
