SKY SONG

Two weeks ago, this horse ran well over a Happy Valley 1200m, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear with a steady pace but showing a late surge. He finished fifth, beaten two and a half lengths. Another trial over Sha Tin 1200m this time with a one-pound weight reduction; his section times were unremarkable with a weak finishing kick, leaving him in an unfavorable position. The trainer/jockey combination isn't ideal, however he showed the ability to track the leaders. He can follow the pace and with Lyle Hewitson taking the ride – who has some familiarity with the horse – a clean break and intention to stay close should see improvement.
