JOYFUL TREASURE

On October 14th, (turf trial 1000m: 3-2-8) tracked the pace in both sections but weakened at the turn. Three weeks ago over Sha Tin 1400m, this horse performed poorly, slow out of the gate and settling towards the rear. Showed an effort mid-race, however faded significantly and finished well beaten. A recent barrier trial did not reveal much improvement. Returning to Happy Valley over 1200m this time for his first attempt at this distance, he will carry 17 pounds more weight. Expected to settle towards the back of the field but finishing kick may be insufficient against rivals. Trainer-jockey combination doesn’t appear strong, though the distance should suit. Drawn a favorable barrier and jockey is gaining understanding of the horse's capabilities, making him worth considering.
