Four weeks ago, this horse ran a respectable race over the same distance, with a slow jump and settling towards the rear. It finished strongly but was beaten three and a half lengths. This time it has a 3lb weight reduction, proven form at this distance, comparable times within its group, and a favorable barrier draw. The plan is to settle back in the field, relying on a good finishing kick. The jockey has some familiarity with the horse's capabilities, and there’s mutual trust between trainer and rider.
