On 21/10, this horse recorded a strong dirt trial over 1200m (sections: 2-1-1), showing good acceleration down the straight and increasing in pace throughout. Four weeks ago, in a similar distance race, he performed well, leading comfortably with a solid effort during the middle sections and maintaining a good gallop. He finished seventh, beaten three and a half lengths. A recent barrier trial indicated improvement. This time, benefiting from a 3lb weight reduction, having previously won twice over this course and distance, and boasting competitive section times, he looks capable of taking an early lead. Despite drawing a less favorable barrier, good work at the gate suggests he can secure a forward position if jumping cleanly.
