BETTER AND BETTER

On March 13th, the horse recorded a fast second in a dirt trial over 1200m (sections: 2-2-2) and appeared relaxed. Three weeks ago, he ran below expectations over Sha Tin’s 1400m turf, settling well and tracking the pace with good early speed but fading in the final stages. A subsequent barrier trial showed slight improvement. Another turf trial over 1200m was completed, this time benefiting from a two-pound weight reduction; the section times were comparable to other horses in the group, allowing him to settle comfortably. Drawing a favorable position, connections are optimistic with Luke Ferraris taking the ride, indicating some understanding of the horse’s capabilities. Despite three previous attempts over this distance resulting in defeats, his finishing kick has been weak and the trainer-jockey partnership hasn't been fruitful, but there remains potential for improvement.
