Three weeks ago, this horse ran a respectable race over 1200m at Conghua trials, settling mid-pack with little change in position. Prior to that, over the same distance three weeks prior, it showed good performance, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear but finishing steadily; despite a consistent pace, it made ground well and was beaten by only half a length. A recent barrier trial yielded average results. This time, carrying one pound less weight, facing moderate opposition in its group and drawing an outside barrier, a hold-up tactic is anticipated. However, its finishing kick may not be strong enough against rivals, resulting in unfavorable prospects despite the jockey's limited knowledge of the horse and reasonable trainer-jockey confidence.
