Three weeks ago, this horse trialled well at Conghua over 1200m on the turf (1-1-1), leading comfortably under restraint. Five weeks ago in a straight course race, performance was below expectations; a slow jump forced a trailing position, with a mid-race effort that ultimately faded. He finished fifth, beaten two and a half lengths. A recent barrier trial showed slight improvement. Body weight has dropped significantly by 31 pounds. This will be his debut on the Sha Tin turf over 1200m. No additional weight this time, distance is expected to suit, and draws an advantageous inside barrier. Horse, jockey, and trainer appear a good match. Even if forced to settle towards the rear, finishing kick may not be as strong as rivals; overall shape is unfavourable.
