On March 13th, a dirt trial over 1200m saw the horse circling wide and being urged with both whip and hands, showing little promise. Five weeks ago in a similar race over the same distance, performance was below expectations; a slow jump led to settling towards the rear with an even pace, but finishing strongly. He finished sixth, beaten three lengths. A subsequent barrier trial didn't reveal much improvement. This time, he benefits from a two-pound weight reduction and has proven form over this course and distance, posting good times in comparison to rivals. Expecting a hold-up tactics to utilise his finishing kick; despite drawing an outside barrier which isn’t ideal, the horse appears eager.
