Two weeks ago, this horse ran a respectable race over a Happy Valley 1200m, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear before making a mid-race effort to chase the leaders. He finished fifth, beaten two lengths. Returning to Sha Tin over 1200m this time with a three-pound weight increase, he has four wins from ten starts at this distance and good overall times in comparison to the field. The plan is to settle towards the rear again, relying on his strong finishing kick – which is considered the best in the group. Trainer and jockey are in agreement with this approach and have been working hard in preparation; a win isn't out of the question.
