On 12/1, during a Conghua turf trial over 1200m (sections: 4-3-2), the horse showed an initial burst of speed but didn't push further. Eight weeks ago, in a Sha Tin mile race, it performed respectably despite a slow start and settling towards the rear. It made a strong move through the middle stages, finishing with a good two-section effort and was beaten by two and a half lengths for eighth place. After a short break, a recent barrier trial didn't stand out. Returning to racing in this contest over 1200m at Sha Tin – its first attempt at this distance – it will carry an additional twenty pounds. The shorter trip is expected to suit its running style; a hold-up tactic is anticipated due to the strong finishing kick, and trainer/jockey communication is reasonable but barrier draw isn’t ideal; hope for a good finish.
