Two weeks ago, over the same distance, the performance was acceptable despite a slow start and settling towards the rear. The horse finished with a strong final two sections but could only manage fourth, beaten by two and a half lengths – a respectable showing. This race requires carrying an additional four pounds. Having proven records at this distance and good sectionals against its competition group, the jockey has some understanding of the horse's capabilities, and trainer-jockey relationship is solid. The work sessions have been positive; however, despite drawing an outside barrier, a hold-up tactic will be employed but the finishing kick isn’t strong enough to challenge rivals, making the situation less favorable and requiring conservation of energy.
