SHOOTING TO TOP

Two weeks ago, this horse ran well over a Sha Tin 1400m, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear. Maintaining an even pace throughout the race, it made gradual progress in the final section, finishing two and a half lengths behind the winner. Switching to a Happy Valley mile for its first attempt at this distance, it benefits from a one-pound weight reduction and has shown reasonable time figures. The barrier draw is favorable, and trainer/jockey combination appears suitable; however, adopting a hold-up tactic might hinder its finishing kick, warranting caution.
