On 29/5, he ran a grass trial over 1200m at Conghua, running in the lead group and maintaining his position; on 11/5, he jumped out slightly slowly in a 1000m grass trial at Conghua but showed encouraging acceleration from the half-way point. Two months ago, in a race run concurrently, his performance was disappointing; he tracked the leaders with a steady pace throughout but showed no real momentum. After two subsequent trials, there has been some slight improvement. Having lost all three previous starts, the prospects for this race are not favorable due to unfavorable draw and position; running from off the pace, his finishing kick may not match that of the competition, and while his timing has been acceptable and he has done some groundwork at the track, heavy expectations should not be placed on him.
