THE ALL ROUNDER

Five weeks ago, this horse ran respectably over 1400m on Sha Tin turf, though he was slow out of the gates and settled towards the rear, maintaining a steady pace. He gradually closed in during the final stages and fortunately was not too far behind, finishing beaten two and a half lengths. In his subsequent run over 1200m on Sha Tin turf, this was his debut at this distance. For this race, he carries a five-pound allowance, and the trip should suit him. The jockey and trainer combination is acceptable; however, even if he runs in the same field, with time differences and an unfavorable position, a rearward running tactic may not be enough to challenge the leaders in the final stages. This race is best viewed as a supporting runner.
