After a slow start from the gates, he settled back and then made a strong run in the final two sections, finishing as runner-up beaten only half a length; his class is high. In a more recent run over 1800m on Sha Tin turf, his time was the best among his group. With favorable draw and second-best finishing kick in the field, coupled with a high overall rating, the jockey seems to have good understanding of the horse's temperament, and the trainer-jockey partnership appears smooth. He is considered a contender for the win.
