ORIENTAL SURPRISE

8/6 (Sha Tin Turf trial 1200m: 5-3-6) ran wide throughout, maintaining momentum. Four weeks ago, this horse had a disappointing performance over 1600m on the Sha Tin turf; he was allowed to run freely but faded late, finishing poorly. Having had a trial, the preparation is not yet sufficient. In his last run over a Happy Valley mile, he drew a good position and possessed second-best finishing power in his field. His overall rating placed him among the leaders, and connections appeared well-coordinated; however, in this race, he must carry an extra nine pounds, face a time difference with his rivals, and the circumstances do not look favorable, but he remains worth watching.
