Four weeks ago, he performed poorly in a long-distance race on Happy Valley turf, drifting to the rear with a weakening finish. A recent trial showed slight improvement. In a subsequent Happy Valley mile trial, this distance proved unsuitable; the time figure was weak and the circumstances disadvantageous, forcing him to stay back with insufficient finishing power compared to rivals. The jockey and trainer do not seem to have a particularly harmonious partnership. Fortunately, his morning work showed some promise, and this race offers two pounds weight reduction, but there is no clear opportunity.
