On June 23rd, he ran a dirt trial over 1200m (7-7-6), showing restraint in his running line from the start. Four weeks ago, he performed respectably over 1200m on Sha Tin turf, albeit slow getting out of the gate and staying mid-pack with an even pace throughout, gradually closing in at the finish. He tried a barrier trial but did not exert himself fully. In his subsequent attempt over 1400m on Sha Tin turf, this was his first run at the distance, and the trip did not suit him; conditions were not favorable, making high hopes unlikely.
