Steward Report Predict Pace Map
On jumping, TOP HONOR and JOYFUL WINNER were taken across behind runners. After the 1000 Metres, RIVER JORDAN was steadied when crowded for room inside HELENE BRILLIANT which was carried in by JOY AND FUN. No action was taken. Passing the 700 Metres, JACKPOT DELIGHT was steadied away from the heels of ARMADA. For some distance after straightening, JOYFUL WINNER was held up and unable to improve. After the 200 Metres, RIVER JORDAN was checked when crowded for room between HELENE BRILLIANT and JOYFUL WINNER, both of which shifted ground. In the circumstances, no action was taken. Over the concluding stages, TOP HONOR hung in. Also over the concluding stages, ARMADA shifted wider on the track. As ARMADA shifted ground, JACKPOT DELIGHT shifted away from that horse and wider on the track. For the major part of the race, ROYAL PRINCE travelled wide and without cover. B Prebble (HELLO PRETTY) said when racing over 1600 Metres in the past the horse has not been ridden as prominently when racing over further. He said because of this today the intention was not to ride HELLO PRETTY along in the early stages, however, have the horse travel where it was comfortable which resulted in it travelling behind midfield. He said HELLO PRETTY travelled fairly in the run, making the turn after the 800 Metres got its head on the side and commenced to hang out, then near the 700 Metres was steadied away from the heels of ROYAL PRINCE. He said in the Straight HELLO PRETTY responded to his riding and closed the race off fairly. HELENE BRILLIANT was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of HELENE BRILLIANT after the race did not show any significant findings. ARMADA and JACKPOT DELIGHT were sent for sampling. Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 7 April 2008) HELENE BRILLIANT, which performed poorly, was examined by the Head of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison. He said at that time there were no significant findings. HELENE BRILLIANT was again examined by the Head of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison at the stables of Trainer A S Cruz this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, HELENE BRILLIANT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
