YOUNG WITNESS, which was difficult to load, will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test before being allowed to race again. FUN AND FAST was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, SUPREME YEARS raced tight between INCREDIBLE EAGLE and RAINBOW SEEKER, both of which shifted ground. Approaching the 1000 Metres, INCREDIBLE EAGLE raced tight inside SUPREME YEARS. Making the turn near the 850 Metres, GOLDMEN Y Y got its head on the side, shifted out and was checked away from the heels of FUN AND FAST. Approaching and passing the 800 Metres, MULTILOVE over-raced and was checked away from the heels of HOT PEPPER which resulted in MULTILOVE shifting out away from the heels of RED PEPPER near the 750 Metres and racing three wide and without cover for the remainder of the race. Then rounding the Home Turn, MULTILOVE hung out. Rounding the Home Turn, GOLDMEN Y Y was momentarily hampered when improving into a tight run between INCREDIBLE EAGLE and FUN AND FAST. Near the 100 Metres, INCREDIBLE EAGLE was steadied when disappointed for running between HOT PEPPER and RAINBOW SEEKER which shifted in. B Prebble explained that it had been intended to ride PRAISING in a forward position today. He said after being loaded PRAISING became very fractious and as the start was effected momentarily lifted its front feet off the ground and was slow to begin. He said then shortly after the start HOT PEPPER, which was drawn to his outside, shifted in which resulted in him making the decision to shift PRAISING in across behind runners to obtain a position closer to the fence. He explained that in the Straight PRAISING hung in and raced somewhat greenly. MANDARIN and PRAISING were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that INCREDIBLE EAGLE had lost its left front plate.
