CLASSA was slow to begin. From a wide barrier, CLEMENT ELITE was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. THE GOODIES began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped LUNAR REFLECTIONS, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced. Shorty after the start, AMNESTY and MOCHA COFFEE made heavy contact due to both horses shifting ground. Near the 1000 Metres, MOCHA COFFEE proved difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of BRAVE HEART. Then passing the 900 Metres, MOCHA COFFEE shifted out, resulting in LUNAR REFLECTIONS being taken wider. After this, LUNAR REFLECTIONS travelled wide and without cover. ISTIDE had difficulty obtaining clear running until passing the 300 Metres behind HORSESHOE FORTUNE and SILVER SUN, both of which were giving ground. Throughout the race, QUELLE SURPRISE travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of BRAVE HEART and AMNESTY after the race revealed that both horses were displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being permitted to race again, BRAVE HEART and AMNESTY will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BRAVE HEART, PENGLAI XIANZI and MOCHA COFFEE were sent for sampling.
