Steward Report Predict Pace Map
SKYVIEW BAR was slow to begin EXCEPTIONAL ART shifted out at the start and bumped ST FEVRE. From the outside barrier, LAMBRO was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Making the turn near the 850 Metres, ENRICHED became unbalanced after being bumped by SKYVIEW BAR which shifted in slightly. EXCEPTIONAL ART was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight. When questioned regarding the performance of MASTER POWER, D Beadman stated that from barrier 9, he was unable to obtain cover on the horse and MASTER POWER raced three wide and without cover throughout. He added, in his opinion, MASTER POWER is better suited by being able to race with cover. He said although the horse was obliged to race wide and without cover, it was disappointing in that it gave ground noticeably in the Straight. A veterinary inspection of MASTER POWER after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of MASTER POWER, a last start winner, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MASTER POWER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When questioned, B Prebble (FIRM OFFER) stated that the horse travelled satisfactorily throughout the race and in the early part of the Straight whilst somewhat reluctant to stride out was making ground. He said passing the 200 Metres FIRM OFFER shortened stride appreciably and then near the 80 Metres blundered when being eased down. A veterinary inspection of FIRM OFFER after the race did not show any significant findings. In the circumstances, the Stewards ruled that FIRM OFFER must perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of ENRICHED, Z Purton stated that the horse travelled satisfactorily in the run. He said the horse came under pressure rounding the Home Turn and although ENRICHED was obliged to be steadied away from the heels of DEPOSER when that horse shifted out passing the 300 Metres, ENRICHED finished off the race only fairly and, in his opinion, raced “flat” today. A veterinary inspection of ENRICHED after the race did not show any significant findings other than the horse had lost its right front plate. AASHIQ and EXCEPTIONAL ART were sent for sampling. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on SKYVIEW BAR at the request of Trainer A T Millard. The Veterinary Officer reported that this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. The performance of SKYVIEW BAR, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SKYVIEW BAR will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
