COMET SPLENDIDO

On April 25th (Conghua turf trial 1200m: 7-6-4), the horse maintained a mid-pack position with an average performance. On March 25th (turf trial 1000m: 9-9-9) it trailed behind and never entered contention. On February 25th (turf trial 1000m: 6-4-6), the horse was urged along the outside rail with a strong stride. Three months ago, in a race over the same distance, it showed promise despite a slow start, finishing strongly in the later sections. After a short break, three barrier trials were conducted but failed to meet expected progress. Having raced after being transferred, this time it will carry 17 pounds more weight and has drawn a poor barrier. It’s anticipated to settle towards the rear; however, its finishing kick is unlikely to match rivals, making its situation unfavorable. The trainer-jockey combination doesn't appear strong, despite having three wins at this distance previously. The jockey has limited understanding of the horse's capabilities but training has been positive.
