SMASHING EXPRESS

On May 5th, a turf trial over 1000m at Conghua saw the horse settling in mid-division with an intent to participate (finished 5th, 7th, and 6th sections). On April 25th, another turf trial over 1600m at Conghua showed limited progress as it was hampered on the straight (finished 3rd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th sections). Four weeks ago, in a Happy Valley mile race, the performance was below expectations; a slow jump resulted in settling towards the rear but displayed a strong late run. Two barrier trials have been completed without showing significant improvement. Another turf trial over 1600m at Sha Tin this time with a two-pound weight reduction, alongside competitive section times and an advantageous inside draw, presents a favorable situation. Based on the horse’s ability, it is considered the strongest contender in this race and expected to settle comfortably towards the front.
