He then trialed over 1600m on the turf and will carry five pounds more weight this time. The timing is comparable to other horses in the group; he should be able to secure a good position tracking the leaders, presenting an advantageous scenario. Considering his ability relative to the competition, he appears to be a leading contender. The jockey has some familiarity with the horse's capabilities and enjoys a good rapport with the trainer, who is stepping up the work intensity.
