Five weeks ago, this horse ran well over a Happy Valley mile, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear with an even pace but finishing strongly to take fourth place. He was beaten two and a half lengths. Having recently trialled over 1600m at Sha Tin, he will benefit from a two-pound weight reduction this time. Drawing an inside barrier allows him to settle in a good position tracking the leaders. Compared to other contenders, he possesses superior ability. Final trackwork suggests good condition and despite three previous unsuccessful attempts at this distance – with uncompetitive times recorded – a forward showing would not be surprising.
