On May 13th, during a turf trial at Conghua over 1200m, the horse showed a slow start but made progress from the midfield down the straight with an easy pace. Five weeks ago in a similar race, it performed moderately, settling well and making a mid-race move, ultimately fading towards the finish but only beaten by two and a half lengths to finish fifth. A recent barrier trial didn’t fully reveal its potential. This time carrying a 2lb reduction in weight, with two previous wins over this distance, competitive sectionals, and an advantageous draw, it has good chances. The horse holds a definite advantage in this race; the trainer-jockey combination is reasonable, and remains a threat.
