On May 12th (dirt trial 1200m: 4-5-4), the horse maintained a steady pace and moved smoothly around the bend. Four weeks ago, in a Happy Valley mile race, it performed poorly, jumping slowly and settling towards the back of the field. It made an effort in the middle stages but failed to sustain the momentum, finishing well behind. A recent barrier trial showed only moderate form. Another dirt trial over 1200m at Happy Valley was completed, with a one-pound weight reduction for this race. Despite drawing a reasonable barrier, it is anticipated to settle towards the back. While showing good finishing speed in comparison to its group, it has yet to win any of its five races at this distance and faces unfavorable conditions based on previous times; the hope is simply for a good run.
