On May 9th, over a Happy Valley 1200m dirt trial (sections: 7-7-8), the horse responded only moderately to urging at the 200m mark. On April 17th, another dirt trial over 1200m (sections: 4-5-8) saw it drift back throughout, responding poorly to pressure. A further dirt trial on March 3rd over 1200m (sections: 8-8-7) showed only a slight improvement with urging at the 200m mark. Two months ago, in a Sha Tin turf race over 1200m, it ran well despite a slow start and settling towards the rear before finishing with a fast final two sections. It was beaten by two and a half lengths for seventh place. Following a short break, three barrier trials have not revealed significant improvement. Another Happy Valley 1200m trial this time with a 3lb weight reduction; however, it has failed to win in four previous attempts over this distance. Time comparisons within the group suggest a hold-up tactic will be employed, though its finishing kick may be inferior to rivals. Nevertheless, an advantageous barrier draw and good rapport between trainer and jockey offer some potential.
