Four weeks ago, this horse ran very well over a Sha Tin 1200m, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear before finishing with a fast final two sections. In a subsequent trial at Happy Valley over a sprint distance, he benefits from a two-pound weight reduction but lacked the necessary finishing kick to match rivals. The barrier draw wasn’t ideal and trainer/jockey combination appeared less effective, although their overall section times were respectable. Drawing a good barrier this time with Matthew Poon taking the ride – who has some familiarity with the horse - makes him worth considering.
