Three weeks ago, over a Sha Tin 1400m turf track, the performance was satisfactory. The horse broke slowly and settled towards the rear, showing an effort in the middle stages but failing to sustain it to the finish. Switching to a Happy Valley mile on dirt for its first attempt at this distance, it carries no additional weight this time but the distance is not ideal and lacked finishing kick with a trainer-jockey mismatch. However, drawing a good barrier offers a chance to track the pace, presenting a favourable situation. Andrea Atzeni takes the ride, having some understanding of the horse’s capabilities; a clean break and intent to settle forward should see it finish among the leading group.
