SPIRIT OF PEACE

On October 10th, a turf trial over 1200m at Conghua saw the horse track close to the rail while being held back. Three weeks ago, in a Sha Tin 1400m race, it displayed promising form despite a slow start and settling towards the rear before making ground with fast sections in the final two furlongs. It finished sixth, beaten three lengths. A subsequent barrier trial showed no marked improvement. Now switching to a Sha Tin mile for its debut at this distance, the horse will carry a 3lb deduction but has drawn an outside barrier. The plan is to settle towards the rear again, however, the finishing kick may not be strong enough to compete with rivals and the overall situation isn’t ideal, even considering the potential suitability of this longer trip for it; consider this run primarily as another trial.
