On 9/10, the horse completed a dirt trial over 1200m (sections: 9-9-6), accelerating along the straight. Five weeks ago, it ran respectably over a Sha Tin 1400m turf track, jumping slowly but finishing with a strong late run, beaten three lengths for fifth place. A recent barrier trial did not show noticeable improvement. Now stepping up to a Sha Tin 1600m turf race for the first time, carrying a four-pound weight reduction, the distance increase isn’t ideal and the trainer-jockey combination is questionable. However, its finishing kick remains the strongest in the field, with Jerry Chau taking the ride – a jockey known for controlling pace effectively; proceed with caution.
