RUN RUN SMART

Two weeks ago, this horse ran a respectable race over Sha Tin 1200m, with a slow jump and settling towards the rear. The pace was steady but showed a late effort when prompted by the rider, finishing three lengths behind the winner. Another trial over Sha Tin 1400m is completed, carrying three pounds more this time. The plan is to settle towards the rear again; however, the finishing kick wasn’t strong enough compared to rivals. The barrier draw isn't advantageous and trainer-jockey relationship seems lacking synergy. Fortunately, the horse’s sectionals were good, with a jockey change to Derek Leung who has some understanding of the horse’s capabilities, potentially influencing the outcome.
