A month ago, this horse ran well in a Happy Valley sprint, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear. He showed a strong late run to finish fourth, beaten two and a half lengths. Now stepping up to a straight-course race for the first time, he benefits from a one-pound weight reduction and has drawn a good barrier. The trainer and jockey are working well together; despite concerns about the distance potentially not suiting, his finishing speed is adequate. A clean break should see him push forward for a leading position and secure a place in the top positions.
